This project could be considered similar in nature to my "Black Butler" book cover assignment in recreating a famous work
with creative use of typography. Rather then creating an image out of lettering, I imposed features of the castle itself onto the typeface itself, taking advantage of the shapes and lines of certain letters like creating a new font, testing how the letters interact.
This project was created in order to showcase designer abilities in creative
ideas for advertising and layout of text and imagery in advertising, NOT as an
officially commissioned project for Disney and Studio Ghibli and not made for profit.
Howl's Moving Castle was directed by Hayao Miyazaki in Studio Ghibli in 2005
and licensed by Disney for release in the United States, (later G Kids). Based
on the book by Diana Wynne Jones.
